Gas prices

I was listening to an XM station and they were reading a letter from a cross country driver, who said that the price was 3.04 in New Mexico, but 4.49 in New York.

Seems like the same thing I found the last time I was driving long distance.

There are several (I think 5) refineries in New Mexico around Roswell, and oil fields there too, that's part of why they have it soooo cheap. New York City? Well, what isn't the highest priced in the nation if not things bought in New York, the culture there priced itself into poverty and prosperity depending on if you own or rent.

Best gas prices in San Diego are averaging $3.52 a gallon

Worst is that gas station in Pacific Beach with 4.39... http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/01/sunday-january-11th-2009-gas-prices-at.html was my post of how they were overpriced (2.82) when oil was 38 dollars a barrel, and now that oil is 103, they are 4.39

How is it that oil triples in price and gas doesn't even double in price?

new info about 1937 Chevrolet dealerships installing truck beds in business coupes... I thought that was a thing people had to make for themselves

I've posted about this gas rationing ingenuity before, that a truck was issued more gas rations, and a car less, so some people converted their cars into trucks by just adding a pickup bed where the rumble seat or trunk had been... this is the first I've read about it being done by a dealership... But the owner of this 1937 Chevy business coupe is the 2nd owner and bought this car 40 years ago, so I'll just work with that.
